Warehouse Team – Clamp Truck Operator

Responsibilities:

Port Hawkesbury Paper has a job opportunity for a motivated and skilled individual to join our Warehouse team as a Clamp Truck Operator.  Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, this operator will be responsible to load and ship our product to various destinations around the world.  

Skills/Competency Requirements:

Candidates must be capable of safely performing in a fast-paced, highly technical and flexible work environment. The ideal candidate for this position is a team player who possesses extensive experience in operating mobile equipment, mechanical aptitude, and has solid communication skills. Must be self-directed to work efficiently under minimal supervision and able to switch tasks abruptly in order to address higher priority requirements.  This position requires shift work.

Experience/Education Requirements:                          

  • Grade XII or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of experience mobile equipment in a warehouse environment
  • Strong safety work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to Problem solve
  • Must meet the essential skills requirement and pass a depth perception test

Compensation:

$24.77/hour (Per Collective Agreement)

Job type:  Full-time (4 days on, four days off rotational schedule involving both day and night shifts)

Mill Operations Team

Port Hawkesbury Paper has a job opportunity for a motivated and skilled individual to join our Mill Operations team in our Woodroom.  Reporting to the Woodroom Supervisor, this position will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Woodroom processing equipment.

Skills/Competency Requirements:

Candidates must be capable of safely performing in a highly technical, labour intensive, fast-paced and flexible work environment. The ideal candidate for this position is a team player who possesses a strong mechanical aptitude, outstanding organizational and communication skills and has solid problem solving abilities. Must be self-directed to work efficiently under minimal supervision and able to switch tasks abruptly in order to address higher priority requirements.  This position requires shift work.

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Grade XII or equivalent
  • Preference given to applicants with 4th Class (or higher) Power Engineering Certificate
  • Strong safety work ethic
  • Experience with lock-out/tag-out procedures
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment

Port Hawkesbury Paper has a job opportunity for a motivated and skilled individual to join our Woodyard team as a Heavy Equipment Operator.  Reporting to the Woodyard Supervisor, this operator will be responsible for the unloading and management of wood and wood chip products in PHP’s woodyard.
